Nebraska Global is proud to announce it has been qualified as a member of the Microsoft Cloud Accelerate Program and has become a Microsoft Authorized Education Reseller (AER). To qualify for the Cloud Accelerate program, partners must successfully demonstrate their cloud services expertise and provide customer references to demonstrate successful customer implementations and satisfaction. To earn a Microsoft AER authorization, partners must complete a test to prove their level of academic licensing and market expertise.
Nebraska Global’s inclusion in the Cloud Accelerate and AER programs are the result of its support of local nonprofits. Since 2011, Nebraska Global has migrated 12 nonprofits to Microsoft’s Office 365 suite of products and services, which Microsoft makes available free of charge for qualifying organizations. Nebraska Global’s work has resulted in nearly half a million dollars in technology savings.
This volunteer-driven effort is one component of the Nebraska Global Nonprofit Technology Fund, a partnership with the Lincoln Community Foundation that helps nonprofits improve their technology infrastructure. Along with updating software, Nebraska Global volunteers also assess the hardware currently used by nonprofits. If upgrades are needed, Nebraska Global facilitates finding the right components and installs them free of charge. If funds are needed to cover one-time technology costs, the partnership with the Lincoln Community Foundation allows nonprofits to receive grants for financial assistance.
“Nebraska Global’s membership in the Microsoft Partner Network helps us serve our community,” said Amanda Garner, Nebraska Global’s Director of Community Outreach. “By helping one nonprofit save thousands of dollars from its annual operating budget, Nebraska Global is helping the entire philanthropic ecosystem in the community by making charitable funds go further. The Lincoln Community Foundation believes in that philosophy as well, so our partnership with LCF helps to reach more nonprofits.”
